Yep, I know that title is a mouthful, that's why I didn't include it on the page title. This lesson is something I developed this summer starting with an assignment from a professional development class, and I am excited to use it as a beginning of the year project. It is based on the book Carla's Sandwich and features MyPlate. I had a lot of fun making a truly absurd sandwich, and I am really happy with how the accordion fold lets us show the layers of food without having to worry about losing any pieces.
I haven't had a chance to use this lesson with students yet because, you know, summer, but as soon as I do, I will add some photos of sandwiches created by actual 6 year olds!
My preparation for this lesson includes a printable template and a Google Slides presentation. The template is linked in the slides and vice versa. I did my best to give you everything you need for this lesson, including a read aloud from Storyline Online.
